How AIS combined family-inspired zodiac artwork, wood cladding and fibre-optic stars without changing a Gouna villa’s basic layout.
A distinctive interior does not always begin by changing the floor plan. In this Gouna villa, the client wanted a stylish, individual home without removing walls or altering the basic layout. Eng. Youssef M. Aziz explains how AIS developed that brief through wall treatments, personal imagery and light.
Making the artwork personal
The concept drew on the zodiac signs of the family. Rather than treating the walls as a neutral backdrop, the team used them to carry an artwork-led story: a galaxy connected to the people who would live there.
That personal reference gave the design a direction beyond decoration alone. The subject belonged to the family, while the wall treatment made it part of the everyday experience of the home.
Giving a strong idea room to breathe
A feature can lose its impact when every surface competes for attention. In the reel, Youssef describes balancing the artwork with wood cladding to calm the composition. The contrast allowed the more expressive elements to sit within a considered material setting.
A second experience after dark
Fibre-optic points introduced star-like light within the zodiac artwork. After dark, the illuminated details interact with the image and change the atmosphere, giving the same walls a different presence from their daytime appearance.
The lesson is not to copy a particular motif. It is to connect a personal brief, a balanced material palette and an integrated lighting idea. For this villa, those decisions created individuality without relying on a new floor plan.
